Our Strong Little Buddy..............
Well, it is day 3 for Ethan Robert and what can we say.......... he amazes us more and more everytime we go in and see him. Brad and I catch ourselves calling him Little Buddy because he is so little and such a cuddle dud.
He started getting feedings before he was 24 hours old. Luckily pumping is going well for me. He started at 2mL every 3 hours and increased the next day to 7mL and today was doing 12mL. We love going in at his feeding times because the nurses let us do his routines. Brad changed his first diaper for the first time in is life! We also take his temp before each feeding. He shows signs of getting hungry before each feeding. Brad loves giving him is paci and he really starts sucking on it showing he is ready to be feed through the little tiny tube in his nose.
He had a bit of Juandice today because his bilirubin levels were a bit high so he went under the bili lights all day long. We got the giggles because it looked like he was hanging out in a tanning booth all day! He kept trying to pull off his little glasses and Brad was great at being in charge of getting them back on his face. This evening his levels were down so hopefully tomorrow they can take the bright lights away.

Chilling on the beach! Legs crossed, arms up!

Also, the last 3 days Ethan has had special visitors. HIS GRANDPARENTS! This Iowa winter has made it such a challenge for all sets to get up here and to stay for very long. Darn ice! Dad and Connie had been here days before delivery, for the delivery and throughout the next day, spending his first moments of life with him. Frank drove Mom through an ice storm the second I started labor and made it to Minneapolis at 3:30AM and spend precious time with him. Ethan was doing so great he was able to start maintaining his own body temp! So, he needed some clothes. Frank went straight down to the gift shop and found this cute little miracle outfit! Here are the first pics of him in clothes!
That green plate is there just to keep his IV in.

For the last 2 days John and Kathy have been here. We were so excited to get them here! They were the lucky ones to hold him first! Here are the precious family photos!

3 generations of Weber MEN!

John bought Ethan his FIRST John Deere Tractor. He made this cute display that we put in his unit. Kathy also brought up some clothes that Brad wore when he was a baby!

John and Kathy were GREAT help in getting us transistioned from my hospital room to our next "temparary home." We are fortunate to be staying in what they call a "bording room" here in the hospital. I got discharged on Friday at 2:30 and they said these bording rooms are first come and based off of need. They are mostly used for families going home, but sometimes they have open ones. So, luckily we have been here SOOO close to Ethan.

Ethan is so lucky to have such wonderful grandparents who will be such a special part of his life!

This grandma can hardly take it being so far away! The video is so precious- I waited so long to see those eyes open- now I can. Snowed in at home again, guess I will just watch the video over and over again!
