Not fun.....
I am not excited to make this post, but wanted to document what was happening. So, on Wednesday I called my doctor because I was having some pressure in my lower amdominal area. I wasn't going to call but just decided to after my lunch and was planning on being back at school before my kids came back from music. Little did I know, I won't be going back to work at all this year.
I was having contractions at the doctors office and they took me directly to the hospital. I was a sobbing mess! Called Brad and he came as soon as he could. They started me on an IV (took 3 times) and started nifedipine to stop the contractions. Everything with baby looked good so that was my only saving grace.
The contractions didn't stop right away and they monitored me through the evening. I was dialated to a one and they were worried about the length of my cervix. After a VERY long sleepless night, the next morning my doctor said I was going to the U of M because Mankato doesnt have the resources for baby's before 34 weeks. I was off in an ambulance by 9 and up to the cities. That was the longest ride to the cities ever- even though the drivers were super nice and said it only took 35 min!
Brad and my mom came up shortly. Everything settled down and I had a great Thursday afternoon and night. Baby had it's steriods (painful rear shots for mom) so that is good. Dad also came up in Thursday and it was very comforting to have the people I love the most by my side! After not eating for 30 plus hours I was excited for some food- until.........meatloaf was placed in front of me! YUCK. But, I did get a shower on Friday morning!
The plan was to go home on Monday and have strict bed rest, until last night when I started having more contractions. So, now we are on a day to day basis. I feel very safe here knowing they are the best to take care of preterm babies. They said at 30 weeks I am "normal term" to them. A NICU nurse came and talked to us, which was very emotional, but good information.
Doctors say to eat alot and get lots of water~ Brad is my favorite nurse here! He has been AMAZING! He keeps me calm in times of emotional breakdowns! We are excited for each day gone by as being another growing day for the baby. Keep praying Baby Weber stays right where it is for several more weeks!

Wendy & Brad I am thinking of you guys so much. It's good you're in such great care. We hope the best for you all & will be keeping Baby Weber in our thoughts. Stay positive, there's nothing like a Mama's strength.

I was just at my parents and my mom told me you were in the hospital:( Hang in there and drink lots of milkshakes!! Your are in good hands! We will be thinking of you!
On a lighter note - love the new house.
We'll be thinking of you and praying for the Weber family everyday! Love to all of you! Katie Guess
Wendy, Brad and Baby W - have been thinking about you non-stop and saying lots and lots of prayers. Love you very much.
Wendy, we are thinking of you! What a scary time, but you are in a great place, with people who know just how to take care of you (including your family!) Try to rest, though I know its hard. Watch lots of tv and read lots of trashy magazines!
Wendy, my mom just told me you were in the hospital! We are praying for you- it is not time yet Baby! Let us know if you need anything - we are happy to puppy sit or put out garbage - just let us know.
sorry to read this, Wendy!! i can't imagine how scary that must be.
one of our close friends here in iowa city, katy, is a little older than us and had their baby very early. we had lunch with them last saturday and it was amazing how big and healthy elizabeth, their daughter, has grown to be!
i say that NOT to minimize what you're going through, but to share that regardless of what happens things can work out great.
thinking of you three.
