Clay County Fair

Back to the fair...the Clay County Fair. Grandpa Butcher puts a lot of time and effort to let Ethan show pigs. But Beau admitted it was his job to feed the pigs and named them Joe, Joey, and Bob for Ethan since he wasn't around to feed or name them. That kid cracks me up! Grandpa had lots of helpers this year with pigs, Luke, Ethan and Beau.

Ethan was the showman!

Look along the fence line...all the experts...Brad, grandpa, Luke and Beau!

In between showing, we had to go check out Betsy, Beau's calf he was showing at the fair on Sunday. So cute!

Back to the pig barn for the Hampshire show...
He got first in his class with one of his pigs.

More help than he might need bringing up the pig...haha
The sprayer, Luke

Brad was watching the ISU/IOWA football game from his phone which was dying and he had to stay plugged in. He looked like he was in timeout in the corner.
Dad and I found the game playing on a much larger screen than Brad's at the National Guard booth! So fun watching the second half...bad ending though!
Luke did some rides

Always fun to see and play with Kate at the fair!

Then back for the Pen of Three

SUNDAY: This was the BIG day grandpa kept saying. Same pigs, different judge.
First place in one of his classes again this time! In for the championship drive!
HE WON...Champion Hampshire Market Pig!

We litterally ran to go see Beau show Betsy.
The cutiest ever!!

We then had to go back and really enjoy and celebrate the victory!!

Thanks grandpa!

What a great day!!
Luke became the full time sweeper on Sunday.

He would go ALL THE WAY down the aisle!
Earlier in the day Luke said, "I hope grandpa picks me to show a pig sometime." Well, instead of getting a trophy for showing, grandpa rewarded him as the best sweeper!

haha!!
Such great weather, fun, and memories made for the boys!! Thanks grandpa!
