Okoboji

This is the second year for a longer stay in Okoboji. Last year Katie, Ronnie, and Drew came for the fun long adventure, they couldn't come this year because of the bundle of joy on the way ( I am beyond excited for that baby to come!!!) We have been coming down for about 5 years though on the same weekend to support grandpa Butcher's 4-H Foundation Golf Tourney he does, which by the way, he raises more and more money each year!! It's darn right impressive!

Anyways, this is going to be a BLOG OVERLOAD of pictures since Ronda and Harry were around, Harry has the camera shooting all the great shots, I am sure you will be able to determine a Harry picture vs a me (on my iphone) photo! Grab a cold one and enjoy....

Thursday I went to pick up Ronda and Harry while Ethan did Bible School. Then we headed down to Bridges Bay, checked into the poolside ground floor room and we were off to the pool first thing! Aunt Katie gave us all a bit of a scare when she went to the hospital to stop early contractions. Glad they stopped them and baby Merrill is still growing!
One of the first things Harry did was teach Luke to pose like he was peeing. Haha
Wet suit snuggles.
A cute group.
Thanks Harry!
Friday was the day of the tourney. Luke was grandpa's sidekick all day!
Grilling with grandpa.
Friday night the adults went out after a successful auction. We bought a package to go watch Isu in Destin, FL in November!
Saturday was a full pool day and then Renea, Steve, and great grandma joined us all for dinner!
Bread makes us all happy!

Sunday Funday Father's Day!!
Harry got some great action shots in the pool. We had an amazing grill out picnic poolside with Andrew's clan and Ben's too.
Uncle Ben can really launch the kids far!

Look out, Beau has the water gun!

Luke was a water boy, big time! Wanted to jump and swim "by myself mom"

Ethan was so thrilled he could touch all over the pool and he was having fun trying to swim far.
Only problem, his suit was a tad bit big....
And he swam his pants off!
Having fun on the lily pads. Another thing Ethan mastered this week.
Monkey see, Monkey do brother has to try too!

Got it!
Hugging on great grandma!
Chatting away with her too.
Such great memories with these amazing people!
Happy Father's Day, Brad!

After nap time we headed to Arnold's Park! Grandpa likes watching the kids do the rides and loves going in the Mirror Maze and Tipsy House, Luke called it the "crooked house" the rest of the week.
Lots of train rides. They were missing the rest of the crew, Drew, Kelby, and Kate from last year.
The mini coaster was favorite!!
Ethan had to do all the spinning rides by himself because nobody can handle the spins anymore.
Dino's
They did get Ben on the rocking ship!

Buddies with Beau!
Grandpa loves the bumper cars!!
Back to the coaster for Luke!
Love this "see no, speak no, hear no evil" monkey picture with grandpa.
Brad went on the upside down Ferris wheel thing with Ethan.
Back to the coaster!

We had a relaxing rest of the week.
Sunsets were late and great!
Bar swing
Lunch date with Kate!
Funny story here. Luke ordered smiley and corn dogs. The waitress came back and asked if we needed anything while waiting for our food and Luke says , "HEY! Where's my corn dogs?!" I was a bit embarrassed bit could barely hold back the laughs.
An afternoon at Barfoot Bar. I picked out my dream boat while waiting for food and the boys played hard! Ethan even went down the slide into the lake. Then Luke wanted to but I said no. That set off a good 20 min cry on the dock. Ahhh

They found the captain!

Ethan got to go fishing one afternoon with dad and Lucas. He caught his first fish ever!!

I have to do what??

We loved sunset swims to end our nights!
They always lured/suckered Connie into getting into the water!! Such fun!

Back to Arnold's Park...

The maze of mirrors with silly grandpa!
Cone head Luke. He thought it was hilarious!
Ethan cracked up over stretch Ethan!
Tickles, snacks, and Cyclone TV at night with grandpa! Thanks for an amazing week grandpa and Connie!!! See you next year....maybe have my dream boat, place, haha!!
