Farming Fun

So, Ethan spends about 90% of his time playing farm at home. So we HAD to get him to the farm to actually experience it this fall before they were done harvesting. Daddy was busy selling corn so mom and the boys headed to Holstein last weekend to get Ethan in the combine! I don't think I could drive fast enough for Ethan. While watching his movie on the way, every once in awhile he would ask, "we are going to the combine first, right mom?" I explained grandma Lori was going to feed us some yummy soup and then we could ride all afternoon in the combine. Then in total Ethan (Mr. obsessed with a schedule) would respond. "Okay, eat first then the combine ALL DAY."

A DEAD SPRINT TO THE COMBINE!

 FINALLY, riding with grandpa!
Luke got to spend some time with Connie, it had been quite a long time since we had been back to see them.
Luke LOVES to PULL at strings- loves that tension/resistance feeling I think. He is pretty strong!

A special surprise that Kate and Donna were there. Kate giving kisses....

and hugs. Luke enjoying the attention.

Ethan also got to haul in some loads with Uncle Ben.

And chat farmer talk with Andrew when he brought the truck out to collect loads.

I asked Ethan what he did the whole time in the combine, here are his responses:
"I had some treats, oreos. I let grandpa have 1 oreo and I ate the rest."
"We told knock-knock jokes"
"We drank blue pop (Gatorade I am thinking)."
"The corn wasn't wet mom, that makes it cut good."
Oh to be a mouse in the combine to hear all the conversation between grandpa and Ethan.
I found out later he did take a nap, he failed to tell me that part.
Then we headed to great grandmas for chicken for the Inside Scoop! Kelby and Melissa were there to play, too.
Great grandma lets you play with everything. So fun for the kids. Ethan decided to play train with Kelby in a basket.
It was fun, until Kelby's finger got stuck.

Great grandma is so great about getting down there and playing with those kids! Putting some puzzles together here.
She loves snuggling with those baby boys, too!! He is BIG grandma- watch out!

Back to grandma Lori's and Frank's house for the night. Luke and Frank chilled out.

Grandma Lori lets the kids do whatever they want (can you say spoiled). This drawer was a perfect toy for Luke as his legs fit perfectly underneath and he could pull out Tupperware all he wanted without being told no.

After lunch on Sunday, we headed out for one more quick ride in the combine.....

Climbing in, ready to finish the field
Ethan got to finish up the field and head back to unload the corn at the farm. A great farming weekend!
