I am so happy to have a career where I have my summers to be home with Ethan! We have had so much fun this summer already!
Ethan got his 18 Month photos taken for a fundraiser for Susan G. Komen that a co-worker was putting on. It was neat, just signed up for a time at the park and she took our pictures, gave us a CD of them when they were edited. Here are some of my favorites with some commentary.
The senior picture pose.
Ethan's classic point and get excited about ANYTHING!
A sweet smile, but uncomfortable rock.
The Finger touch.
"Hum, I pulled off this flower, now what."
"I will Sweetly rip the it apart"
The "I'm more interested in this flower than smiling pose" The "snoopy/what's going on guys" look.
"Wow, I am up high in this tree."
All done claps!
Some fun words that Ethan says.
The Ethan way then the translation:
mama: mom
dada: dad
bubba: bubbles
ba: book
nana: banana
duck: duck :)
tra: truck
ball: ball :)
tra-tow: tractor
bubaba: blueberry (his favorite food right now)
bra-ber: Brown Bear (multiple meaning word right now, either the book Brown Bear or Teddy Grahams)
cha: cheese
ma: milk
nigh-nigh: night night
I am sure there are others I am forgetting as he is just a motor mouth right now (well in his own language) It seems he is surprising us all the time with a new one. Again, I just love this stage!
He also tries to do the actions to The Wheels on the Bus, Where is Thumbkin, Do Your Ears Hang Low, If Your Happy and You Know It.
We are working on pointing to our body parts and naming animals. So far we got:
Head, hair, ear, nose (only points to someone else's nose), belly button. He is good at imitating a lion, kitty, dog that's about it.

I love these photos...I think he looks just like Brad in the "snooping around" one! They are all so cute.
And the translation is great! Sounds like he's learned quite a few things in the last couple weeks. What an amazing little guy :-)
Love,Katie
He is so cute! And I laughed out loud at your comments-and really that's quite a vocab for an 18 month old! What a smarty pants. Also loved your post on Andrew's wedding. The Butcher's are a good looking family! Bet your speech was great :)
