Surgery Day

We have been dreading this day since they told us in the NICU that Ethan was going to have to have surgery sometime before a year old. I guess all I can say, is thank goodness it is OVER. Not a fun feeling sending your baby off with a strange nurse knowing they were going to be under anesthesia! I of course broke down and cried and Brad was there to tell me it was going to be okay.Ethan in his hospital jammies before they took him for surgery. He was only in surgery for an hour, which felt like forever! We got to go in as soon as he was awake and stirring. He was one hungry boy- couldn't eat anything 4 hours before surgery so it had been about 7 hours! The nurses commented on how easy going he was. Here is our first peek after surgery.
They let him take in his froggy with him. We had to stay about 3 hours afterwords before we could head home.

His throat was so sore from the breathing tube, the nurses thought it was so cute that he was still trying to talk and that he sounded like his frog!
He has been a sore little guy! Had a very rough night the first night and even had to call the on-call resident doctor twice because we were so worried.Spent alot of time just rocking in our chair, brought back memories of when we rocked ALL the time to get him to go to sleep when he was real little. And sleeping on the floor in his room brought back more memories too!
The little guy woke up this morning with a smile on his face and had a great day! I hope he continues to heal and feel good. Thanks to everyone who prayed for us and wished us well. It always helps!
He woke up
