Happy Halloween 2015!

Throughout the week Brad and I had this realization that society makes every Holiday SUCH a BIG deal. I think Ethan was asked to wear a costume for 4 different occasions. Sounds fun, but so much work for parents to get it all organized. Yikes. Anyways, his school had a fall festival on Thursday were kids could wear their costumes. I didn't want to use their from this year as we still hadn't trick-or-treated yet and didn't want them ruined. So, we through on our ISU gear and dressed up as football players.
Go Cyclones! And since the clones played on Saturday we had a tough decision for Ethan- football game or trick or treating. He opted for the trick or treating, but he was sooo bummed to miss a game!

Luke had to be dressed in costume ready to go on Friday morning by 7:30- Our daycare provider takes all the kids around to parents workplaces to trick or treat. Super fun!
Luke was Jake the Pirate from a Disney show.
Catherine and the kids!
Luke was sooo good when he came in! My class was excited to meet him!

They even went to the tv station for their 5 min of fame!! So, yes, that is Luke picking his nose on TV! So him.

But, You have to LOVE it when Halloween falls on a Saturday!!!! Made for a fun weekend! Brad and I hosted a neighborhood couples party on Friday night. Last year we our first annual in the hood and Brad and I were voted the losers of the costume division, meaning we had to host. The rules were made up mid night and yes, we put zero effort into our costumes last year- borrowed from someone- Eggs and Bacon packaged costume from the store. Soooo, that meant we had to host this year! We had a great time here are some pictures of the costumes this year!

Forrest Gump and Jenny was what we choose to use this  year! We had Bikers, ACDC, Superheros, and Dorothy and Scarecrow.

Run Forrest, Run. Brad was the perfect Forrest Gump....

And this was what I came down to in the morning- fun times=big mess! And this was just the basement bar. Oh well, it was fun to let loose!

Then Saturday was ALL kid day!! Neighborhood kid party in the afternoon before the trick or treating began. WE LOVE our neighborhood!
A few photos at home before going. It was a beautiful day, not sure why I didn't take them outside for photos. So used to it being so cold I guess.
Luke was a Pirate. Ethan was Baymax the robot from Big Hero Six. It was inflatable, so fun, but it had to go in the garbage by the end of the night!

My neighbor uses an actual camera and sends me the best photos, here are some outside shots of the costumes.
 Luke the Pirate!

Baymax deflated a bit.
The whole neighborhood gang. This could be trouble some day!

Luke and Taylor
BIG HIT
Waiting for candy!

Determination!
LOVE LOVE LOVE his eyes!!!

The crew of older kids seriously sprinted from house to house for a good 2 mile loop!! Luke was on his own pace....way behind. He was pretty cute with his loud, "trick or treat" "happy halloween" "thank you" routine he had. There was one other girl his same age that strolled around with us, so I wasn't all alone, but I seriously didn't see Ethan go up to more than 3 houses before he was off!!

Mr. Independent.
Short story: Luke had a very hard time not eating every piece he got from each house. Towards the end I told him he could have a piece, so he took a big chewy tootsie roll. Walked up to the next house, grabbed his candy and went to say thank you and couldn't because his mouth was full. So, he did what every polite 2 year olds (hence the sarcasm) pulls the spit filled piece from his mouth, says "thank you" and shoves the gooey thing back in. Walk away like it was no big deal. The neighbor was laughing so hard, said it made her night. That kid.
All in all it was a BUSY week and weekend, but man, I LOVE the memories they will have for a long time from the night!
