The Month of May...

We had a pretty chill out May this year. The weather was great to just spend some time outside, finally! There was Mother's Day, my birthday, Memorial Weekend all back to back weekends, throw in a garage sale (NEVER AGAIN will you see a post from me talking about having a garage sale- let's say i could use my profits to even spend it on a dinner and movie date) and that was May! Sorry to be one long post!

Of course we kicked off the month and did the traditional May Day baskets! It's been catching on in our neighborhood and lots of kids do them, so made for a fun but COLD evening! Last year it was snowing so we get over it and count our blessings! Ethan really got into doing May Day the 'real' way. Running away after ringing the bell. He had fun getting chased by some girls. Then had regret later that he didn't get to talk to all the neighbors.

Luke had the candy eating under control!

Ethan had a Preschool Spring concert with just his class. So glad I got to slip away from work to go watch him sing. He did great, not too shy, but not obnoxious! Perfect balance!

A quick photo shoot for great grandma Butcher's birthday. These two are so funny when I try to get pics of them. Luke's new thing is giving hugs, he is the BEST at them! Ethan likes the 'arm around Luke' pose the best. None ever really turn out with both smiling and looking at the camera, but we get some cute action shots, too!

Ethan is obsessed with his gator! This is how we head over to the neighbor's to play- Ethan at the wheel, Luke sitting shot gun.
For whatever reason I just think photos of these two on this are too precious!!! Melts my heart!
Ethan also learned the great family game of Skip-Bo! I remember playing this game for HOURS at grandma and grandpa Butcher's with cousins, aunt and uncles, and siblings. Fond, fond memories from my childhood!!! Grandpa always at the head of the table, me by the window (not sure why) and grandma across from me- all engraved in my mind!
Ethan did great, Aunt Katie said I always cheated (I don't recall those momomens :) I hope Ethan can be a fair player!

A quick birthday pic! My guys know what I like, Ice Cream. So, why I was racking in the dough at my garage sale (not really) these guys went and got me a cake (not even sure I made enough money to pay for the cake, get the point that I will NEVER have a garage sale again?) Of course my children take after their mother- sweets are yummy and more interesting than a photo with mom.

Another special day was Ethan's last day of preschool. I saw all those posts from people with first day/last day photos showing how much their kids grew up in a school year. So, I scrolled through the archives of my photos and thought I would do the same. Should have just gone with "yep, these people are right, kids really do change in 9 months" attitude and been done with it. Instead, I did my own collage and end the night crying in disbelief how much MY kids changed in 9 months!! I KNOW all stages of life are going to be great, but I just struggle watching them grow up so fast. Seriously, what happened to Luke?!?!

Here it is, the pic that kept me crying all night- where did the time go???

Then this one....heart strings pulled!

Silly Luke....this kid is a no fear, silly all the time, one of a kind kid! Not big on the vocab yet, unless it is a food item- cacker (cracker), mi (milk), nana (banana) and then well, ball. Oh well, the words will come. He does sign "more" very well, may be why he is still so big. I think it's cute when he can communicate he wants more, so I feed him more!

couch shopping, why not just climb all over the furniture and lay out?
A no fear pic. Head first down the slide with a face full of mud. Don't be fooled, he is not crying because he got hurt or muddy, he was crying because I pulled out all the rocks from his mouth that he wanted to eat!
Luke goes through strange stages, he was in the "let me get IN every basket, box, tupperwear contain I can get my hands on" to let me put "EVERYTHING on my head"
Yes, hats on heads are normal......
Now a drum?!?!?!?!

Memorial Weekend. Dad and Connie came up on Sunday and we had fun going to the park for a picnic (Ethan's request) with broasted chicken. Reminded me of Morehead park with grandma and grandpa Butcher! We played some baseball, Ethan LOVE hitting!!

It's been a great month with lots of family time memories!! 3 days of school left for me, then this mom gets to spend WAY more time with her fun loving boys!!
