A BIG game and a BIG surprise

Well, we all decided to head back to Ames and cheer on those Cyclones despite their loss the first game. This time we had a FUN event planned that would outshine the Cyclones. Grandma Lori's Birthday! Her birthday was the day of the BIG Iowa/Iowa State game. We headed to Ames Friday night to meet her. Little did she know the Weber's were not the only ones attending her party! Yep, her kids pulled off a surprise! Katie and sweet baby Drew flew in for the event! It was very fun planning this for mom! Of course, our actual plan of how to reveal Katie and Drew didn't go as planned (not naming any names, BRAD, there was a slight glitch). OH well, she was still shocked to see them at the hotel waiting for her to get there. Bri, Beau, Melissa, and Kelby came Friday night to surprise her, too!
Here are some photos of Friday night fun:
Aunt Lois meeting Luke for the first time! She was a surprise for mom, too!
Grandma Lori with all the grandkids and their mommy's at the restaurant.
Eating a birthday breakfast with grandma before the tailgating began! Grandma, Frank, and daddy had already been to the Tip Top for beer and chili!

Then it was time to entertain two babies while mommy's got ready. 2 naked babies- as we didn't want to goober all over our precious ISU baby gear! These pictures just crack me up every time I see them!
Luke: "hey haven't seen you in awhile Drew, I want to squeeze your arm"
Drew:  "Good seeing you too, but this blanket can make a good hiding game."
 Luke "Drew isn't hiding anything"
Drew: "it's cubby over there, he is guilty"

"We aren't ever going to get in trouble, they think we are too cute!"

Onto the floor- who knew a bag could be so entertaining.

Onto tailgating...
Drew was decked out hat to socks in his Cyclone stuff. The long distance doesn't make him any less of a fan!

At the Cyclone club Ethan got his face painted with CY on it. He was obsessed with taking a picture of himself to make sure it was still there- we did this several times throughout the day.
BOBS- wish I would have had a picture of all 4 BOB strollers surrounding the tailgate, of course our dualie was large and in charge! Oh what do you, Luke sleeping through a party, he tends to sleep through big events.
Ethan crashed a random tailgate to take a picture of Captain Corn.
We were busy headed to friends' tailgates and hanging out with families. LOTS of walking!
Then we were loaded up with our babies on our bellies ready to cheer on the CYCLONES! I'll end there talking about the game- let's just say Luke has a bad record.
Au
Aunt Renea joined us and was an awesome helper the first half! It was great to catch up and chat, I guess we chatted too much and should have been taking more pictures. We were basically the last ones to get a seat I think as we sat right under a pine tree and couldn't see a single play of the game, oh well, like I said, there were good convos being had!
Drew had fun in the grass.
Luke could have cared less that the Cyclones were losing. He was having fun!

What else do you do in the 4th quarter of a bad game, feed your baby bananas, duh!
2 years ago we were celebrating Katie's bachlorette party and a SWEET TRIPLE over time victory. This year we were celebrating that we survived a 6 hr day of tailgating and a 3 hour game with 6 month old babies! We can't have it all I guess!

Ethan and daddy got to sit with grandma. Ethan's Cyclone buddy Aidan was there to play with. Even though they look happy here, Ethan was quite sad at the end of the game. He goes to Brad after the game when the Hawks came running over, "they are taking away our trophy dad!"
After the game we went back to the hotel for cake and ice cream!

A great shot! The next morning. Of course my sleepy head kids still had their pajamas on! Oh well! It was a fantastic weekend and so glad we were all there to celebrate grandma Lori's birthday! We already have plans in the mix for her big 60 in a few years!
