Mother's Day Weekend and Some Surprises!

I couldn't have wished for anything better this past weekend! Ethan I rode tripped down to Holstein. We were trying to surprise Great Grandma Butcher for her 84th birthday, but the world of facebook makes surprise near impossible! Oh well, she was excited to see us anyways! We headed over there as soon as we arrived and grandma had a surprise of her own, walking without her boot on! She broke her leg this past winter and the strong woman she is, she is already back ready to go again! She truly is an inspiration in SOOO many ways to me and she has proved herself once again to amaze us all! Love you grandma! We had to laugh, we all new grandma was 84, but she will tell you she is now 85 because she is on her 85 year of life! We toasted to some wine and some homemade angle food cake Friday night. (Of course I forgot my camera!)
Want to know the real amazing part.......ETHAN TOOK 12 STEPS THERE!!! He was walking a bit at daycare Friday, but nothing big, took a few steps at grandma Lori's and then did his big 12 at great grandma's- supposed it helped to have a great grandma, grandma, and super excited mom to help out! I am SOO proud of my little man!
We  had so much fun on Saturday, aunt Ronda flew into town to help celebrate grandma's big day so we got to hang out with her in the morning. Grandma, Ronda, great grandma and I drove to Sioux City to meet up with Liz, aunt Renea, and sweet baby girl Anna! Anna is about 22 months and just a little honey! She was astonished with how much food Ethan could pack down in one setting. Here are some funny pics of the event.
 I can do it grandma!
Let's do a count- cheddar bay biscuit number one.

Look at Anna, she just couldn't figure Ethan out.
 Broccoli, and mac and cheese.
Cheers Anna- let's go, I'm thirsty!
Another biscuit down, all his mac and cheese, broccoli and asking, "Anna, if you don't eat that rice can I have it?"
 "I have my spoon ready!"
 "Got my bite!"
Neat and lady like under Anna's high chair, messy and piggy under Ethan's.

 What a sweet cupcake!
 "Energized ready to go!"

Here I go, these cowboy boots are tough to walk in.
 See you later grandma Lori!

"I'm off!"
Later we went out to the farm to check on the uncles and grandpa Bob. We will post those photos later in a farm post.

Sunday I had a fantastic time with my amazing mother and Ethan's grandma Lori!  We all played, cooked, and just enjoyed the day together. Great grandma and grandpa Hammer came up for lunch before we left.
Playing tractors with uncle Andrew. He was pretty protective of his old tractors. Even laid down some rules for Ethan, it was quite funny!

 Soon to be Aunt Melissa!
Everyone got in on the tractor fun!
Great grandma Hammer had fun watching all of Ethan's funny faces!
I missed the cheesy smile of Ethan, it sure did make great grandpa laugh!
There is my hamball at his finest!
Sure, won't take a good one with me, had to get all crazy!

Ethan, you make everyday a great Mother's Day- I am so lucky to be your mom!!
Happy Mother's Day Grandma Lori
I can't even put into words the love I have for my own mother, she is indescribable and it makes my eyes light up watching her enjoy Ethan so much! I sure hope all the mom's out there had a great Mother's Day!
