The fall started out super busy for us. But the thing we all enjoy! Football! And then because football didn't keep us busy enough with practices Tuesday and Thursdays with games on Saturday mornings we decided to throw in some fall baseball! Whoops- maybe overdid it!
The school year was off to a great start for the boys. They like their teachers, friends and we don't even have to fight them to want to go to school. They kicked off their fall fundraiser with the Jefferson Jog! Both boys did great! Ethan got 2nd place out of the WHOLE SCHOOL! Luke said he cramped up a bit...haha. Next year buddy!
I never get to go watch because I am at work, so I don't have very many pics....Brad did get this one..
I actually think he just probably started to fast. If you saw the video that goes with him darted off first from the first grade you would understand why he got a cramp- not a sprint buddy- running 1.5 miles!
Hauling Garrett around I didn't get the best pics this year. But we had lots of cheering as Ethan did a wonderful as running back. In fact the very first play of the entire season he ran for a huge touchdown! His highlight from the year would be his Pick 6! Lots of yards and great tackles on defense, too!
Football on Saturday and baseball on Sunday. The first weekend of games it was blasting HOT! The next two weekends we sat in the RAIN freezing our butts off!
Luke got to be batboy. He thought that was fun!
We did manage to sneak in our first Iowa State Football game- big Iowa vs. Iowa State one! Both boys had football games that morning and then off to Ames we went! It was a beautiful day in Mankato....Garrett saw his buddy Laken- we had to get the Hawkeye fan vs. Cyclone fan pics!
Maybe a little shower they said.....that's okay we thought. Headed into Jack Trice for the first time!!
Looks nice....then the FIRST Rain Delay. Not long 1 hour....unless you are solo with a baby and a 6-year-old in the womens bathroom. Oh, the patience I had! Brad and Ethan were in different seats and headed to the car....no cell service because there were soooo many people there!
Garrett fell asleep and we were back in action......
Until ANOTHER Rain....this time a DOWNPOUR!!! We darted out the car...thankgoodness as this one lasted 2 hours! The rain just came down in sheets!! It was all the lightning that caused long delays. It was really nice out when the rain went through, but it kept on lightning.
Just eating puffs and crawling around in the car!
The third start is a charm, right???
These boys were CHAMPS! They really did so well considering the game was more than twice as long as it should have been! Brad still owes me big time for this game! One for the books I guess!
He did great...one game he wasn't into it, but the rest he really did well. He got a touchdown the game that grandpa came to and he was great at grabbing flags! Lots of diving efforts! Way to go LUKE!
Grandpa made it up for a quick trip to watch the boys both play. It was a weekend where they both played at the same time. We started out at Luke's watched till his touchdown, then headed up the hill to Ethan's where he saw a HUGE run from Ethan and we were RIGHT there when he got his Pick 6! Grandpa is pretty lucky to see the season highlights of both boys!
Then back home to put on our ISU gear for the game!
Friday night Garrett had fun watching grandpa play basketball with the boys!
Football is now over but Ethan just had try outs for basketball.....so onto the next sport!
