This Easter we headed to Dysart like we usually do. So many Easter traditions there and boy did we fit them all in this time!
First stop- Great Grandma Lillian. She looks great and was glad to see how big Garrett was getting!
Lillian, you are so special to us all! 4 generation pic!
The boys get a bit antsy there so Luke taught papa how to play slaps.
Garrett loved chatting with grandma all weekend! They were buddies!!
Dear Kathy knew I love rolls! She made these for me and they did not disappoint. Funny story though...I heard Garrett wrestling around in his pack and play and I awoke to the smell of these. I couldn't find my phone to check the time and I thought- way to go Garrett you slept through the night- because I could smell these baking. But go to look at the time- nope 4:30. Yes, Kathy was baking these in the middle of the night! ha.
Headed to the Dysart park for the traditional egg hunt. I think it may be the last one for the big boys. The only reason they would take a pic with the Easter Bunny was because they were giving out full size candy bars!
So many kids there- they could find 3 eggs then go turn them in for prizes. Well, the start signal went off and I lost Luke. I was looking all over for him and seeing the line for prizes was getting really long and I thought we would be there forever. Then he comes popping over with his prizes already. He was the FIRST one to get his 3 eggs. He said he had the 3 closest to the shelter picked out and was going to grab those first so he would have first choice to prizes. Nice plan buddy, but maybe we could enjoy the hunt next year a bit longer! He got a special egg with free ice cream cone gift so off we went to get an ice cream cone at 10 am in the morning! haha
Coloring Eggs!
So thankful grandma likes to do this with the kids! It is not my thing- not a fan of the dye getting on my hands.
Since papa was in the field, grandma had lots of chores for the boys to help with. They LOVED helping out on the farm! I think Ethan was in heaven driving the gator. Anything that involved that he was all over it!
Grandma giving some driving lessons.
Then off to feed the squirrels! They drove around to all the trees with feeders changing out the corn cobs
Back to the house for some cookie decorating. The boys surprised me and had more patiences than I thought making these look cute!
Of course Luke needed to munch on some while doing his job.
Their finished products.
silly faces and more tasting
With a long pro and con list of deciding when to go to church we ended up deciding to go on Saturday night to the Easter Vigil. Knowing it would be longer and starting at 8pm we really took a gamble on it! So we cleaned up and took some pics before headed out.
LOVE THIS ONE! All the smiles and happiness!
This kid cracked me up with his outfit!
Out cold before church started. Thinking- oh he will sleep the whole service! Nope, he was up about 5 min into it and luckily was a HAPPY guy. Even giggle at some points! Keep in mind this service was 2 hours long- he rocked it!!!
This was back at home at 10:30 at night- still a happy guy!
Easter morning the boys found their baskets quickly!
Outside play time and then the favorite Easter tradition on the farm- the color coded egg hunt!!! I just had video but here they are at the end counting their eggs and getting their candy and money out.
Lap time with papa.
Kathy had a new activity this year. She made this homemade pinata! It was impressive!
Lexi hanging with Garrett.
Oh and a trip the farm isn't ever complete without an intense game of basketball from Brad and Ethan!
The weather was absolutely gorgeous all weekend. It was great to get outside and spend time on the beautiful farm! Thanks for the great memories John and Kathy! Missed Aunt Nina and the Dreilings!
