June Learnings

We had a VERY busy June with some important firsts for Ethan! He went to Bible School for 3 hrs every morning for a week! He did great! The hardest part was getting him there by 8:30! I'm in BIG trouble come fall!! Our neighbor was the teacher so I think that helped him feel safe and her girls were there, his best bud from daycare was there, too! Here is my big boy ready to go! Almost choked me up taking this photo! Where did my little toddler go?

some photos from teacher, Megan.

Ethan with daycare buddy, Hannah. Her mom was in charge of snack and one day apologized as she saw Hannah lay a kiss on Ethan! Hahah
Having fun! If you asked him what he learned his responses are, "pray for everything" and "stay strong like God".
What great things to take away from an awesome week!!

That same week Ethan started swimming lessons at the Y for the first time. They were an hour for 8 days. It got pretty boring watching, but he grew more and more confident as the week went on. He always did what was asked of him, but never volunteered to go first! He was pretty shy the first couple of days, in fact mid week he got a progress report with Nathan at the top. I went to take it back and the teachers said they thought he said his name was Nathan for 4 days!
Here are some photos from his lessons.
Jumping into the deep end.
If they were good listeners they got free time at the end. Ethan riding the see-saw.
He showed his patience very well all week, I was a proud teacher mommy!
Floating on his tummy!
He unfortunately didn't pass as he couldn't do scoops and kicks for 5 yards by himself, but he had amazing comments on 'swimmer's attitude". And as a teacher I feel these are most important. We can learn to swim but it's harder to learn how to have a good attitude! We are so proud of Ethan!

He is also learning how to ride his bike with training wheels. He is doing a good job, but needs to be praised pretty heavily to keep going!
Now that we are into July we hope to spend more time at the pool playing and practicing our skills in the water and on the bike. Slow down summer you are cruising by too fast!!
