BABY DUE IN MARCH!

So, here begins the blog of the Weber's. Hopefully it will be useful to keep family and friends up to date about our lives! I hope to use this as a journal due to me never writing things down and then always forgetting the good details! I don't think I can ever live up to my friend Liz's blog, but I am excited to be an official blogger! But, not as excited as we are for our new coming addition!

Our due date is March 28 and we couldn't be any more thrilled! We have had so much fun sharing our news with our families. The timing was hard to hide things being it was the summer and as I have come to find out, I must have been a huge drinker because it felt SO weird turning down a cold one on a hot summer day! People also thought I was crazy. I think I used every excuse in the book! As my mom can attest, for my whole life I have never been a good liar! So, I might have thought I fooled some, but they could probably tell something was up.

I sent my mom a newborn diaper first. I was so thrilled for her to open her mail and get it. Little did I know that my mom doesn't check her mail daily- weekly must be her thing because I waited, waited, went to Florida, and still waited.

So, officially I told my sister Katie first! She then had to call mom and ask her if she has been in Holstein lately. She finally got her mail and called me early one morning on the way to work. It was great to finally get a hug in person from her at the first Iowa State football game. While in Florida we were lucky enough to be able to see Aunt Ronda and Uncle Harry. It was really fun to see Ronda's reaction when she got a diaper for her birthday present! We spent the weekend "finding names" with Brad shooting down every good one we came up with (we will have to work on this!). Ronda has her names she is already calling the baby.

We had so much fun telling people in person we decided that is what we had to do from here on out. So, off the Iowa State Fair we went- visiting dad showing his pigs. I hadn't seen my dad shed a tear in years so it was an emotional diaper package! We were lucky Andrew, Melissa, Ben and Brianna were around to tell them as well.

The biggest surprise was telling Brad's family. The timing was great. EVERYONE was home for a family wedding so Kathy had lined up a professional photographer to take a family photo. Instantly I had an idea! Brad and darted out of the house when she came to go see if she could be in on the surprise with us. (We had to ditch brother Casey on the way- sorry Casey) She decided to wait until the end and said "looks like we will have to do this again next year" (groans from everyone!) and then said "say baby on 3!" Everyone looked at Jenn and Deb and then Brad shouted "Wendy is having a baby!" I hope to get the picture posted soon with everyone's shocked faces! I enjoyed it, I hope Brad's parents did too!

Then I went back to mailing diapers to grandparents and other family members. I sure did have fun! I of couse got a priceless email from grandma Butcher. She sends the best emails ever!

This is my first blog ever! What a great idea! Of course, the other aunt is not as fun nor good at communicating our excitement. So, I'll tell you our story. Steve was confused when he picked up the mail, but waited til I came home. I screamed. He jumped. I cried. He yelled, "what?" After I explained the diaper, he smiled from ear to ear saying, "oh, my little Wendy." So now you know! I would love to know the names Ronda picked out. . .

love you both, Renea
